New York (7/16/15) — Joseph A. LoCicero, President and CEO of The Segal Group, announced the following recent officer promotions:
To Senior Vice President:
Mitchell W. Bramstaedt. Mr. Bramstaedt joined the Chicago office in 1992 as a Health Consultant. He became a Benefits Consultant in 2000 and Vice President in 2005. He has over 30 years of experience working with Segal’s public sector and multiemployer clients in the Midwest, specializing in helping clients develop effective contribution options as well as managed care carve-out programs. He has also introduced other health care cost management programs that have succeeded by following a process of goal setting, data evaluation, plan design modeling, vendor selection and vendor management. Mr. Bramstaedt received a BS from Bradley University (Peoria, IL) and an MBA from DePaul University (Chicago, IL).
Eileen M. Flick. Ms. Flick joined the New York office’s Corporate Health Practice in 1993. She transferred to the National Health Practice in 1997 and was promoted to Vice President and Director of Health Technical Services (HTS) in 1999. Ms. Flick has more than two decades of experience in the health care field. As Director of Health Technical Services, she manages the development of claims models for retiree health valuations, rate manuals for medical, prescription drug and dental programs and health care benchmark database systems. She helped create Segal’s Health Plan Cost Trend Survey in 1996, now a standard in the industry. Eileen received a BS in Mathematics and Statistics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook (Stony Brook, NY).
Matthew E. Jackson. Mr. Jackson joined the New York office in 2002 as an Associate Broker in the Fiduciary Liability Insurance Practice, now known as Segal Select Insurance. After several promotions, Matt was named a Vice President in 2010. With more than a decade of experience, Mr. Jackson is an expert in Segal Select’s core services: fiduciary liability, fidelity bonds, employment practices liability and cyber liability insurance. He works with many public sector and national multiemployer benefit plans, as well as specialized retiree health plans of Voluntary Employees' Beneficiary Associations (VEBAs). Matt received a BA in Geography from the University of Washington (Seattle, WA).
To Vice President:
Ricardo Anchea. Mr. Anchea joined the Information Technology (IT) team in the New York office as a Network Engineer in 2008. After several promotions, he became a Senior Project Manager in 2014. With almost two decades of experience in IT, Mr. Anchea is now responsible for the delivery of strategic technology solutions and initiatives, and management of large-scale technology projects companywide. Ricardo attended York College, The City University of New York (Jamaica, NY) where he studied Computer Science. Ricardo is an active member of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and American Society for the Advancement of Project Management (ASAPM).
Vanessa Hatch, Pharm.D. Ms. Hatch joined the Washington, DC office in 2013 as a Senior Pharmacy Benefits Consultant. She has more than 20 years of experience in pharmacy benefit management, including extensive experience in the clinical management of pharmacy benefits, analytics, Medicare programs, client management and plan design strategy. Ms. Hatch works with clients on prescription drug plan benefit design, cost savings strategies, clinical management strategies, practice development and market trends. She holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from Shenandoah University (Winchester, VA), an MS in Business from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD), and a BS in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Robert D. Mitchell, Mr. Mitchell joined the Los Angeles office in 2006 as a Health Benefits Analyst. He was promoted to Associate Consultant in 2008 and Benefits Consultant in 2010. Bobby has more than a decade of experience advising group health plans. He works closely with both public sector and multiemployer clients in California. Bobby received a BS from the University of Findlay, (Findlay, OH) with majors in Finance, Marketing and Business Management. He also completed the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) program from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA).
James Nolan. Mr. Nolan joined the Chicago office in 2002 as an Actuarial Analyst. After several promotions, he became an Associate Actuary in 2012. He has almost 15 years of experience as a consulting actuary. Mr. Nolan’s deep knowledge of pension funding rules, withdrawal liability requirements and pension valuations has led to his designation as one of the lead actuaries for multiple regional and national clients in both the multiemployer and public sector markets. He graduated from Truman State University (Kirksville, MO) with a BS in Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) and an Enrolled Actuary (EA).
Aaron Polkoski. Mr. Polkoski joined the Phoenix office in 2001 as a Health Benefits Analyst. After a brief time away from Segal, he returned in 2005 as a Senior Health Benefits Analyst and became a Benefits Consultant in 2007. He works with large public sector health plan clients and many multi-entity public sector trusts for counties, cities, school and fire districts throughout Arizona. Mr. Polkoski received a BS in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He frequently speaks on benefits topics for various professional associations.
Jessica Streit. Ms. Streit first joined the Chicago office as an intern in 2002, and rejoined Segal as a Health Benefits Analyst in 2007. After several promotions, she became a Benefits Consultant in 2011. Ms. Streit has more than a decade of experience in the employee benefits field. She works with a variety of clients in the multiemployer, public sector and professional service fields. Ms. Streit received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) and a BS in Marketing and Management from the University of Illinois (Champaign, IL).
Jill E. Whiteman. Ms. Whiteman joined the Chicago office as a Financial Services intern in 2002 and became a full-time Health Benefits Analyst in 2003. She received several subsequent promotions and was named Health Benefits Manager in 2013. Ms. Whiteman now has more than a decade of experience in health benefits consulting. She has collaborated with the National Health Practice on various initiatives including the Multiemployer Health Plan Database and the Stop Loss Database. She works with multiple multiemployer and public sector clients. Ms. Whiteman received a BS in Marketing and Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
