PracticesSibson Consulting's Rewards of Work (ROW) ModelFor the last decade, Sibson Consulting has focused our Rewards of Work Study around gaining an understanding of how employees feel about their work. What motivates employees? What retains them? What attracts them? These questions have represented the core of what Sibson Consulting considers the “Rewards of Work.” A primary goal of our national studies has always been to determine what factors engage employees and how these might differ across industries, generations and employee demographics. For 2006, Sibson Consulting has expanded our approach. Recognizing the importance of both wanting success and knowing what to do to achieve it, we’ve set out to discover how employee attitudes link to business outcomes. The Rewards of Work (ROW) framework provides a method for measuring and improving upon these fundamental elements of engagement. Developed over the course of the past 10 years, our ROW framework finds its foundation in national research studies completed in 2000, 2003 and 2006. These studies survey a random sampling of American workers and provide a comprehensive examination of the value exchange between employees and their employers. Goals of the 2006 study included:
