The Opportunity

This is a newly created role in response to a strategic initiative undertaken by regional leadership to grow its multiemployer business in Southern California and Nevada markets. It offers the incumbent the opportunity to collaborate closely with a talented regional multiemployer consulting team and be influential in providing both strategic and tactical leadership to planning and executing business development and client servicing activities. The Benefits Consultant (Consultant) will be highly visible and exposed to a broad range of responsibilities that will develop/enhance sophisticated professional skills to include business planning and development, high-level client relationship management, and thought leadership.

The Role

The Consultant will lead and participate in business development activities to grow revenue, and perform as the client relationship manager with primary consulting responsibility on select accounts. The Consultant will collaborate with the West Region management team and other key practitioners in both the region and Company on servicing new and former multiemployer clients, primarily in the Southern California and Las Vegas areas. This will include assisting clients with defining their benefit program needs, providing creative and/or innovative advice to clients on plan design, funding, administration and compliance aspects for group health, managed care programs and to a lesser degree, pension plans. The incumbent will also have accountability for the planning and managing the execution and delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Requirements

Significant employee benefits consulting experience within a professional services firm environment, and expertise in group health and managed care benefit plan concepts and approaches is mandatory; knowledge of multiemployer health and pension plans is preferred; ability to step immediately into a client relationship role involving multiemployer clients is mandatory; demonstrated success at new business development and project management along with effective interpersonal and communication (oral/written) skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse audience of colleagues and clients, are required.
