The Opportunity: The Associate is a consultant-track opportunity and integral to supporting the delivery of a broad and diverse range of group health benefits consulting services to external corporate clients. Our corporate health practice is dynamic and growing and offers significant visibility, client interaction, the ability to perform as an influential member of client teams, and the opportunity to learn and develop broad expertise in the emerging areas of group health benefits.
The Role: The Associate works collaboratively with consultants and other practice staff on projects addressing a wide variety of issues related to the design and management of health, prescription drug, dental, life and disability health plans. Specifically, the Associate conducts research and gathers data; performs complex qualitative and quantitative analysis using spreadsheets, modeling, and statistical tools to support preliminary conclusions; conveys findings in a compelling manner through reports and presentations; develops project plans and, networks for benchmarking purposes. Projects may include, but not be limited to: proposal analysis; preparing quarterly and annual reports; calculating budget projections, claim cost analysis, rate projections; participating on special projects addressing emerging and/or unique health issues posed by client organizations.
Key Requirements: The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of experience within a consulting/professional service and/or insurance carrier serving the group health market; possess basic health & welfare benefit plan knowledge including exposure to underwriting principles and techniques; have excellent interpersonal and communication (oral/written) skills and requisite software and computer skills.
