New York (9/24/13) — The Segal Group is proud to announce that Stuart A. Sirkin, Vice President, Deputy National Retirement Compliance Practice Leader, has been appointed to the Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (ACT). ACT members are appointed by the Department of the Treasury upon recommendation of the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service to provide private sector perspective. Mr. Sirkin is a member of the subcommittee assisting employee plans.
Mr. Sirkin has more than 35 years of wide-ranging pension experience, having worked for the IRS, the Department of Labor, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) and the Senate Finance Committee. He has been in the private sector since 2007, and joined Segal in 2011. He holds an MA in tax law from Georgetown Law Center and a JD from Columbia Law School, as well as an MA in Labor Economics and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a BA in Economics from the George Washington University.
