President and CEO
Mr. LoCicero is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Segal Group and a member of Segal’s Board of Directors. He is a recognized expert on multiemployer pension issues and has worked extensively in all of the markets in which Segal provides consulting and actuarial guidance. Mr. LoCicero is located in the firm’s New York office.
Mr. LoCicero previously served as President, CEO and Chairman of a major actuarial and human resources consulting firm.
Mr. LoCicero is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary and is admitted to the Bar in the states of New Jersey and New York. He received a BA in Mathematics from Hunter College and a JD from New York Law School. He is a former Board Member of the Employee Benefits Research Institute (EBRI), was designated a “Superstar” in the Human Resources field by HRO magazine and is a recipient of the “Good Neighbor” award from Howard University. Mr. LoCicero was elected to the Board of Trustees of the National Labor College in 2011.
SVP, Corporate Health Practice Leader
Mr. Calvert is a Senior Vice President in Sibson’s New York office and is the firm’s Health Practice Leader. Mr. Calvert advises corporate and public sector clients in plan design for active employees and retirees (medical, dental, life and disability), and he performs competitive bidding, union negotiations, flex pricing, claims analysis and underwriting. He is the Co-Chair of Sibson’s Consumerism Committee and Rx Consulting Team.
Prior to joining Sibson, Mr. Calvert worked in various capacities throughout the healthcare industry, including serving as a financial consultant for a pharmaceutical benefits manager, managing network contracting for a large insurance company, developing disease management programs for a major insurer, and managing financial operations at a large academic medical center.
Mr. Calvert graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Economics and received an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Baruch College/Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is licensed as a Life Accident and Health Insurance agent and broker.
SVP, National Communications Practice Leader
Mr. Carter is a Senior Vice President and the firm's National Communications Practice Leader. He has extensive experience in employee communications and he works with clients to develop employee benefit and human resources communications strategies, approaches and materials.
He has specialized expertise in developing wellness and disease management promotion campaigns, benefit satisfaction surveys, manager/supervisor compensation training and annual enrollment communications campaigns.
Mr. Carter joined the firm when it acquired Marjorie Gross & Company. Before joining Marjorie Gross, he was with Buck Consultants and Johnson & Higgins. Mr. Carter is a graduate of Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
SVP, Sales Force Effectiveness Practice Leader
Mr. DiMisa is a Senior Vice President in Sibson’s Atlanta office with extensive experience working with telecommunications service providers and other organizations on all aspects of sales, marketing and customer service effectiveness. He is the firm’s Sales Force Effectiveness Practice Leader. Mr. DiMisa works with companies to develop and implement sales strategies and sales effectiveness programs that drive profitable growth. He specializes in the design and implementation of sales management solutions that increase sales and profits for clients. Mr. DiMisa has developed new approaches to growth planning and integrated sales management systems that allow companies to build customer-based sales strategies, select and manage distribution channels, and execute growth requirements across a range of marketing and selling environments.
Prior to joining Sibson, Mr. DiMisa was the Telecommunications Practice Leader for a leading sales and marketing management firm. Mr. DiMisa writes and speaks frequently on best practices and strategies for optimizing sales channel performance. He is also the author of a best-selling business book entitled The Fisherman's Guide to Selling: Reeling in the Sale — Hook, Line and Sinker (Adams Media, 2007). He devotes much of his time to identifying trends and issues across large global organizations and reporting his findings through survey briefings, readouts and presentations. Topics covered include: Trends in Compensation Planning, Best Practices in Sales Coverage and Design, Quota Setting Pitfalls and Indirect Channel Strategies.
Mr. DiMisa holds an MBA from the University of South Florida and a bachelor’s degree from Troy State University. He is a Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP).
SVP, New York Regional Leader
Mr. Fries is a Senior Vice President in Sibson’s New York office. He has held such leadership positions as Vice President, Senior Vice President, Co-Head of the New York office, Chief Operating Officer, Member of the Board and Member of the Board's Compensation and Audit Committees.
Mr. Fries has special expertise in qualified and non-qualified plan design, deferred compensation funding strategies, defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans, and group health and welfare benefits.
Before joining Sibson, Mr. Fries worked as a senior benefits consultant for a major insurance company and a large global money management organization where he provided technical consulting services for pension, defined contribution and deferred compensation arrangements. Prior to this, he worked as a registered investment advisor for a private investment firm specializing in fixed-income investments for pension plans.
Mr. Fries received a BS in both Human Resource Management and Economics from the State University of New York at Fredonia. He participated in several executive management programs at Harvard and attended Harvard’s exclusive program for leaders in professional consultancies. Mr. Fries has lectured on benefits compliance issues, non-qualified plan design, deferred compensation and funding options for several leading benefits and human resource management forums. He has been quoted in several business publications and has taught classes for the American Medical Association and other organizations as part of their credential programs.
SVP, Midwest Performance and Rewards Leader
Ms. Hellerman is a Senior Vice President and the Midwest Regional Leader. She is located in Sibson’s Chicago office. Ms. Hellerman advises management and boards in the design and implementation of innovative, effective and sustainable people and reward strategies that lead to improved business results. She has particular expertise in the areas of executive compensation, governance and the leadership challenges that are precipitated by financial transactions. She frequently serves boards and compensation committees as an independent advisor.
Ms. Hellerman has consulted to more than 100 publicly traded and privately held organizations from a wide variety of industries, including insurance, brokerage, financial services, private equity, hedge funds, real estate, healthcare, hospitality, retail, technology and manufacturing.
Prior to joining Sibson, Ms. Hellerman was the Chief Human Resource Executive for Hyatt Corporation, an international corporation with more than 50,000 employees. At Continental Bank, she was the Vice President responsible for the global compensation and benefits functions. At Hewitt Associates, she led domestic and international total compensation assignments. Ms. Hellerman's professional background also includes several faculty appointments.
Ms. Hellerman received an MBA from the University of Chicago, and an MA and a PhD in Spanish and Portuguese from Stanford University. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Science and Mathematics from the University of Michigan, was a Fulbright scholar in Peru and completed academic studies in Mexico and Argentina.
Ms. Hellerman has authored articles and commentary published in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Business Finance, Forbes.com, the Handbook of Business Strategy, Human Resource Executive, Financial Executive and WorldatWork's workspan.
SVP, West Performance and Rewards Leader
Mr. Insler is a Senior Vice President in Sibson’s Los Angeles office with extensive experience in organization effectiveness consulting. An expert in the design and implementation of human resources strategies, compensation plans and performance management processes (across a variety of industries), he is also the firm’s West Regional Leader.
Mr. Insler primarily consults to clients on issues related to organization performance, executive compensation and sales force effectiveness. His experience includes corporate roles in middle-market and Fortune 100 companies. Specific consulting projects that Mr. Insler has led for clients include the review, design and re-design of executive compensation strategies, sales and employee group incentive programs, salary management programs, performance systems, and organizational and human resource strategies. He also helps clients review their overall human resources functionality and their total operations.
In the area of incentive design, Mr. Insler has broad experience with economic value added (EVA) or value-based executive compensation, blue collar and knowledge worker productivity/gain sharing, group incentives and sales force compensation.
Mr. Insler has also held several senior-level human resources roles in the biomedical, aerospace, electronics, financial services and transportation industries. Before joining Sibson, Mr. Insler was a principal in the Human Capital Consulting Practice of Deloitte & Touche, where he was the West Region Practice Leader for HR Strategies. During his tenure with Deloitte, he developed the national Sales Force Effectiveness service offering.
Mr. Insler received a BA from Pennsylvania State University. He has completed post-graduate work in banking with the Bucknell Executive Management Program and at the Southwestern University School of Law.
SVP, Higher Education Practice Leader
Mr. Jones is a Senior Vice President in Sibson’s Cleveland office with many years of experience in employee benefits, managed health care and pharmacy benefits management. He is the firm’s Higher Education Practice Leader and a lead member of Sibson’s Total Rewards Strategy Team.
Mr. Jones helps human resources leaders in higher education transform their departments into strategic partners on campus. He advises clients on issues and topics involving plan design, funding, administration, healthcare, disease management, alternative plan design and employee communications. He also helps clients conduct financial analyses and establish long-term contribution and rate-setting methodologies.
Mr. Jones graduated with a BA in English and Political Science from Miami University in Oxford, OH. He serves as Sibson’s National Liaison for the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), the National Association of College & University Business Officers (NACUBO) and the Association of Governing Boards (AGB). Mr. Jones is also a Past Chair of the CUPA-HR Corporate Advisory Council and remains a founding member of its board.
SVP, National Retirement Practice Leader
Mr. Lawrence is a Senior Vice President and the National Retirement Practice Leader in Sibson’s New York office. He has extensive experience in a wide range of employee benefit services, including benefit and de-risking strategies, funding and plan management, behavioral economics and predictive modeling.
As head of the firm’s National Retirement Practice, Mr. Lawrence works with clients throughout the U.S. and serves as the consultant and principal account officer for many of Sibson’s largest clients. Additionally, he is Sibson’s representative in the Multinational Group of Actuaries and Consultants. Mr. Lawrence has expertise in the design and financing of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.
Mr. Lawrence is a 1970 graduate of Queens College of the City University of New York with a BA in Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Enrolled Actuary. Mr. Lawrence is a member of the policy board of the American Benefits Council, a former chairperson of the Financial Executive International’s Committee on Benefits Finance and former member of the board of directors for the Council on Employee Benefits. Mr. Lawrence has written numerous articles about employee benefits. He currently serves on the editorial advisory board of Financial Executive.
SVP, National Human Capital Practice Leader
Mr. Nostaja is a Senior Vice President in Sibson’s New York office with extensive experience in organizational effectiveness and in creating high-performing organizations. Mr. Nostaja is the firm's National Human Capital Practice Leader and provides a wide range of services to clients including strategic planning and initiatives involving organizational, operational and cultural transformation.
Before joining Sibson, Mr. Nostaja was the founder, president and CEO of Excelcor, a leading professional services firm specializing in strategic planning, organizational improvement and the creation of high-performing work cultures. He led all aspects of the firm including its business development, client relations and project management functions. The Segal Group acquired Excelcor in 2014.
Mr. Nostaja received a BS from California State University, Northridge. He has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the State of California Workers' Compensation Task Force, the State of California Tourism and Marketing Commission, and the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Mr. Nostaja has also served on the boards of several philanthropic organizations, including the United Way, the American Red Cross and the Los Angeles Family Housing Corporation.
