History

Sibson Consulting was founded more than 50 years ago by Robert Sibson. Mr. Sibson was the author of New Practices and Ideas in Compensation Administration, considered a pioneering book on executive compensation. Since then, Sibson has expanded the scope of its human capital consulting services to include performance and rewards, health, retirement, organization and talent effectiveness, HR technology, and communications.

From the beginning, Sibson has been at the forefront of emerging market trends providing new and innovative management perspectives on the impact and importance of human capital in business. Known for very implementable solutions, Sibson has partnered with more than 50 percent of the U.S. Fortune 100 companies.

In 2002, Sibson Consulting was acquired by The Segal Group and combined with Segal’s longstanding employee benefits practice. Established in 1939, Segal is a leading employee benefits, actuarial, communications and human resources consulting firm, with approximately 1,000 employees throughout the U.S. and Canada. Sibson provides full service human resources, benefits and actuarial consulting to public and private corporations, higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations.
